Poetry Patience

Poetry Patience I feel that certain restlessness that dominates my day. Hurriedly, with real impatience, I get through the important chores. At last, with pen, paper, and patience, a poem is born. May 7, 2016 Contest: Sijo Sponsor: Deborah Guenther Beachboard Sijo is the classic form of unrhymed poetry in Korea. A Sijo has three long lines. Each line varies between 14 and 16 syllables, with the middle line often the longest. The first line states a theme, the second line counters it, and the third line resolves the poem.

I love sijo poetry, and this particular one is real relate-able. A lot of times I'll have some great ideas during yard-work and I'll quickly jot down a few lines in my phone so I don't forget, and hope the train of thought sticks with me once I'm finished. Nicely executed, Sandra.
