Poetry Internet Love Affair

A new love who comes to me underground
Over hill even swims mighty river
Under the ocean waves to me he bounds
Joy to my meager life he is giver
Giver of joy, warm fuzzy feelings wait sound
Of email ding_note it will deliver
Disappointment comes when no news from love
Waiting for romantic poetry from dove

When with him, his loving emails are pearls
The tension melts and our spirits entwine
Can't wait to meet face to face soon we'll twirl
When alone all my heart does is to pine
It pines for you alone _your hair in curls
When with you I know I'll have heart that shines
Email ding open what a lovely gift
He is coming on midnight plane_heart lifts

Soon be in his arms not XOXO on paper
Watching and waiting at the airport sigh
Over intercom excitement damper
Call to come to information desk_cry
Cry, cry, and cry _terrorist did tamper
Won't see love after all spirit bone dry
Heartbreak agony ripping my heart out
Can't see for tears flowing without a doubt

HOw sad, Sara, it reminds me of that country song where a woman is waiting to marry a soldier and then she is stood up at the alter because he was killed overseas. I sure wish my mind remembered titles!! anyway, very interesting write. Best of luck in the contest. LUv, Andrea

It seems I missed the begining but this is very sad Sara. So relevant to today with home-grown terrorist in our midst. Love is never loss though..but it's just my opinion. Love, Audrey

You went from happiness to sadness so quickly when you heard the announcement, Sara. A timely poem right now as we all fear terrorism. Good luck in the contest!

Oh no, I wasn't prepared for the sad ending, Sara, but I'm sure there have been lots of loved ones left crying at airports when terrorists take action. A beautifully written poem with such a sad ending. I'm sure this will do well in the contest. Love, Carolyn
