Poetry Defined I’m a poet; you’re poets, and Poetry’s “Christ, As God’s Word” meets the cross, where Love’s Truth, ‘Grace’ sufficed, To absolve men from sin! More proof Satan can’t win! All flesh dies (in God's Wisdom?) Man’s poetry’s dust, Evolution ‘IS’ God, if God isn’t “I AM!” Does that mean man dares dream “Love and Evil” are spin? Did ‘First Star’ that ‘blew up’ grok its ‘matter’ at all? Did primordial seeds ‘know’ that earth had a Fall Or earth’s life comes with seasons? ‘Persistence’ can rust, Can decay, disappear! Can ‘Existence’ grok ‘OUCH,’ Or contrive to be God that’s passed out on a couch? Evolution does answer when life’s in a jam, Has solutions for changes that pose threats to life As we ‘know’ it (where carbon-based life is earth’s wife)! Is it God or “the Devil in details” we spin? Is ‘self-knowledge’ or ‘faith’ the true heart of all sin? Does Religion or Science insist that it’s ‘TRUE?’ To me, Science looks humbler with models (men test)! Why give Truth to a Priesthood, that seeks to control, Would enslave men to ‘insights’ that sinners review, (Pick and choose in their wisdom)! Can ‘Church’ make ‘Right’ RIGHT? Love diluted by Priests makes Truth’s day taste like night! Does the Truth overreach or ‘show up’ more at rest? Do the “Saved” live in Grace or insist that they do! Is a poem divine or place God leads but few? Is a poem that’s poetry brother to Troll? Did Christ claim that His actions deserved His God’s Grace Or just served His God’s purpose, ‘content’ in that space? Brian Johnston 31st of August in 2019
