Poetic Quest
There are poetic flows most divine and sweet
that often come in delayed waves and incomplete.
There are times when the climb is too steep;
Or, its treasured meaning is too deep.
Sometimes, it comes in my sleep
When I'm tucked between the sheets.
It's sometimes given as a treat
To someone experiencing defeat.
A thought may emerge about tomorrow
from the chirping sound of a sparrow.
Unfortunately, sometimes it's like
a greatly desired fish I cannot catch.
Or, inspiration is not ready to be fetched.
May lack of rhyme, rhythm, or reason cause no stress.
Sometimes, there is cause to table or put it to rest.
But getting it right is our dedicated quest.
