Utah Valley where I have lived for the past 34 years:

Popular Attractions in Pleasant Grove, Utah - Richmond ...

Utah Lake I can see from my house deck. to the west. If you were to look east, you would see the mountains close to my house. There are mountain both to the east and to the west of the whole Utah Valley area

Where I would prefer to be (my hometown, Muscatine,Iowa)

For twenty-seven years I have lived here inside this little city, Pleasant Grove. I live too far away from sisters dear. Not easily from this town could I rove! I live here with a dog, a cat and spouse. I hardly know a thing about this town. I’m here because it’s where we built our house. A few main streets I’m used to driving down yet hardly know my way around this place! I also do not know its histories. One thing I like (for me, its saving grace) - it’s home to many varied gorgeous trees! My own hometown I know much better though I spent my childhood there so long ago! Written Jan. 3, 2016 For the contest of Silent One: Sonnet about where you live

Would you really want to live in Muscatine sis, with the cold, the snow the Summers humid and hot. I believe it's where your family is that you would prefer to be, so anywhere would be grand.

Jenny don't know if you will see this reply but yes, I would prefer Muscatine to be by mom and closer to my sisters. However, I would rather they all move out to Utah. WE have so many more movie theaters here hahaha

I, too, live far from family, and came to my present town not by choice. What brought you to Utah, if I may ask? Good luck in the contest.

Sounds like a nice , peaceful place to live. I live on the Lower East Side of NYC - it is a fabled neighborhood. We both face teh ESL challenges - I am making up test this winter. Enjoy your trees! Peace & Love Matthew Anish

it's too bad that you don't live in the city you'd prefer to live in, but your poem about it is wonderful! it's always a pleasure to read something so well-rhymed, andrea...
