Playing Ball

Curveballs come and they go
They exist in mere
Fragments of time
As they test our consciousness
And stretch our faith
They provide us with an opportunity to define
Who we really are

Curveballs come and they go
They are not meant
To rip us apart
As they challenge our focus
And strengthen our hope
They provide us with a fresh start
On a journey of self-renewal

Curveballs come and they go
They rouse within us
A defining change
As they lift our perspective
And expand our goals
They provide us with a range
For our dreams

Curveballs come and they go
They refine us so that we
Extract the best
As they raise the curtains
That lay bare our souls
They provide us with the tests
To emancipate our hearts
