Plato On Shamen

Plato said in Phaedrus that the first prophecies were the words of oaks. Those that lived at that time found it rewarding enough to listen to oaks or stones, so long as they would tell the truth! Plato was referring to shamen in general, I imagine.

Phaedrus the source of aesops fan=bles was not a shaman? If you wish to speak of oaks and Shamanism go to the Druidic culture. [walk a mile in the shoes of a druid shaman] Light & Love

Plato is such an interesting philosopher, Jack. It may very well be that he was comparing the oaks to Shamen. He also believed in and wrote about Atlantis. You present compelling thoughts in your nonet, my friend. Wishing you success in Deb's contest. Love, Carolyn

gosh, what a unique way to do that contest. Good one, and it gives me hope now that maybe I can think of a way to do that contest. I did not even think to use a small poetry form like nonet or some other one. Good thinking!!
