Notes About The Poem

AI is a curse in the artistic world, and that remains as my opinion, written for the contest sponsored by Tom woody.

Plague of Artless Lies, AI

O' cloned creations,
mirroring deceptive diction
scattered in liquified letters,
across android canvases,
here comes the plague of
fabricated foolery,
spiraling in figments of
black and white illusions,
injecting illusive veins
screaming for vanity,
with verses plagiarized
from villainous valleys.

There’s nothing poetic about
the way AI is pickpocketing
rhythmic runes from the
museum of dead poets ~
immortalized on the walls
of glass galleries.
Their sonnets, now imitated,
to adorn artless skies
with stolen synonyms,
weaving soulless symphonies,
to please the apocalyptic algorithm,
unaware of how filtered
procrastinators preying
on pencil-streaked pages
are lonely earthlings starving
for superficial accolades.

I care not for the futuristic
benefits of artificial lies,
yet I see no escape from
these alienated alliterations,
and personified
pathological hypocrisy,
typed behind silver screens,
multiplying metaphors
into robotic ruins,
flowing with
perfectly metered clichés,
coded in complex cadence.

So let me find the inked corpse
of silicon silhouettes,
lost in the labyrinth
of virtual vultures,
flaunting repetitive rhymes
for clueless readers.

Tonight the strawberry moon
frowns at the
neon frequencies
of digitalized fakery,
and my onyx heart aches
for the unknown realms,
where originality floats
as a forgotten fantasy,
fogged behind a fictional facade,
while in silence, stained stars
claim phrases snatched
from the
thesaurus of thieves.

So flee from this venom-less virus,
you and I know better than to
lean on spineless cyborgs,
created mindlessly
from financial felonies.

A poet with a pen that
 lacks authentic pigment
is the victimized alter ego of
designed trickeries~
masked as midnight musings.

IE, I'm wondering why we even need to create poetry through AI? There are enough of us who can create with feeling. It might be useful to identify the characteristics of a particular poet, but as an art form, it serves no purpose. Colleges and schools are teaching AI as a tool to use to perfect certain written material that is technical in nature. It still needs careful human review. The realm of AI which hands decision-making over to computers (gives up control of physical devices) could be full of dangerous outcomes. I'm almost certain we will see this happen.

Though I read your poem earlier, I didn't comment on it as AI is a field almost alien to me. First of all I am not computer savvy and I know minimum things on computer. So I know I am unable to make an authentic comment about it.... its scope and misuse. With advanced web search engines, everything is possible, I understand. Definitely it will encroach on human ingenuity and originality. Reading your poem a second time, I could understand your arguments and I do agree with your contentions. It is pick pocketing and plagiarism when it comes to poetry, art and literature. As you say it is digitalized fakery. By morphing photographs with AI, it is widely used to spread lies causing defamation on others. Man's originality and creativity should be respected at all costs. This is a wonderful 'treatise' on AI in beautiful poetic form. Congratulations on your well deserved win, dear Empress.

You matched my thoughts on this one. Very vital verses you have here. I don't even have so many issues with Al but the thoughts that it could replace the authenticity of humanity is provoking and insulting. The audacity in their duplication and fakeness. Someone unintelligent cannot use it effectively. And I keep saying it. It is wrong most of the time and I sometimes have to correct it when I need to ask about something. Using Al same way you use Goggle - check. Letting it do all the work for-

Ah dear tonye, yes google is always better to do research etc over ai. This is more focused on the poetic and artistic world, iv seen so many artists also voice out their frustration over some stealing their work to create ai art, and how that is an insult to their hard work. I feel for them: and all. And so many talk about how they dont get enough business, cus ai now is everyones employee. Its such a pleasure seeing you here. Thank you sweet soul

I can feel the rage in your poetic rant... A lot raw emotions coming out here... AI is a contentious issues in poetry an rightly so.. However, AI is very useful of businesses.. although there is some issue with humans being replaced by robots.. Your poem is a deeply evocative and timely critique of AI's encroachment on human creativity. The rich, metaphorical language and passionate tone make it a compelling read that challenges the reader to reflect on the value of genuine artistic expression in an increasingly digital world.

I’m sure AI will have a huge important roll to play in society Ink, but never on a poetry or literary site, how on earth anyone thinks it’s fashionable to post AI poems or indeed AI generated comments goes entirely against the ethos of creativity and individuality, I’m delighted you spell it out here in no uncertain terms, your disgust and aversion to such behaviour, I fully share your sentiments, a wonderfully intelligent written piece, cheers David

Well said dear david. AI can be helpful in some aspects but in the world of poetry etc its just sad that some choose the lazy and deceitful way to get acknowledged. While ai does the same old bla bla rhymes. Thank you so much for your support

Wow! Quite a lot to digest. Originality, spontaneity is everything, whether love making or poetry -- the finger prints, wine stains, tears, blood etc.... Deep feeling honesty is a book's worth.

Someone is angry, lol- I think AI is one of those programs that do some of the writing for you? I have seen things like that advertised, they edit your work, computer programs, such.... powerful, warrior work <3 :)
