Pillar of Salt

I looked back and saw the dumbfound distance In latitude and longitude, the lines to her existence, Chasing me on wreckage strewn road. But did I run, my feet nailed damned and cloven? Anchored to the ground made sour and woven With a cruel streak juiced up with overload. Tears came yet made no sense or reason, My nerve wrought hands plunged in the gutted treason, Reminding me of how I rued the day. With no response, just like a straight man, Took right to heart, all cold and deadpan And became no more than salt all cried away.
