Pierced

my mind is consumed by His hands being pierced How could men hammer nails through those healing hands? Just days before, the streets filled with his praises. I'm confused. The mob shouted "crucify him!". How could men hammer nails through those healing hands? When He was born, He was foretold to be King I'm confused. The mob shouted "Crucify him!" I wonder how His death could be part of God's plan? When He was born, He was foretold to be King. My expectation was an earthly kingdom. I wonder how His death could be part of God's plan? Still, I have seen the things Jesus has done. My expectation was an earthly kingdom. Some say our Messiah has not yet arrived. Still, I have witnessed the things Jesus has done. So I have no doubt He is the Son of God. Some say our Messiah has not yet arrived. Just days before, the streets filled with His praises! So I have no doubt He is the Son of God. My mind is consumed by His hands being pierced! This eyewitness would have to wait three days for her answer to be revealed. For Rob Carmack's Pierced Contest.

Yes, syllables is a foolish thing to kick someone totally out of the running at the very least you should have gotten HM and content wise much higher! Anyway the important thing is how much you learned [typo line 1 -My] Light & Love

That is such a shame Richard - I didn't enter the contest at all as my pierced poem didn't fit any syllable pattern lol:-)

Very intelligent and touching take on this theme, Richard. Those nails never managed to stop the healing process...one which will carry on till the end of time. Also...Congrats on POTD. // paul

Why? Because my friend men think more of the temporal and less of the eternal! Why? Because the ignorant is blinded by the sun of wisdom divine! Why? Because God allowed man to be free even when He knows what Man can do! A very deep and beautiful poem that prepares the hearts for the coming resurrection, dear friend, Richard!

A 7 my friend. The sacrifice that he endured for us is so heartbreaking. How could people be such hypocrites? Good luck in the contest. Blessings dear friend

In reality we are all hypocrites otherwise there would have been no need for his sacrifice. It brings to mind the song "Put Your Hand in the hand of the man from Gallile." I remember the Pat Boone version.

"But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed" (Isaiah 53: 5). Richard, may He bless you for lifting His name up. What a lovely write. What a wonderful message. He smiles at you, and so do I! :) Hugs
