Picking Up Hubby
Hubby works in the next town, and I drop him off… quietly each morn.
But when it’s night… and time to pick him up…Dragon comes along.
Dragons there, daily, so crazy things tend to happen, I can honestly say.
Now, Mayhem Falls loves Dragon, with their big hearts, come what may.
But the town of Wonky Willows, has become a tad more strange, every day.
They even get on the radio, giving a warning, when we’re seen on our way.
The town moved Hubby’s work hours to WAY after, everyone else, does start.
And they blast the tornado sirens, each day, whenever we are… on their chart.
Geez! It wasn’t Dragons fault when his Cape got caught on that very ancient tree!
But putting the oldest tree in 40 states, so close to the road, just isn’t safe, you see?
Poor Dragons throat got bruised, when the tree got yanked, clear out of the ground.
But you really, should be ashamed of yourselves: as it was a danger, most profound!
And that overpass that came down, when Dragon raised his sleepy ‘widdle’ head?
It should’ve been made higher, as it gave Dragon a headache, needing aspirin meds!
And that little Volkswagen ‘Bug’ full of kids that kept honking at Dragon, for fun?
He stopped YOUR bullies, melting their tires, leaving them stuck solid, in the road.
And when the state flag flying in front of your new Government office caught fire?
Dragon sneezed, when hit, with a face full of cotton wood fluff, like everyone else!
We offered carpenter Trolls to help rebuild the roof, after the FLAG, had set it afire!
Your comments were most unkind, after all, Hubby’s taxes, helped to build it, prior!
The broken fire hydrant, Dragon tripped over, which flooded the main street stores?
Don’t worry! We don’t plan to sue! You see, we’ve a great sense of humor, in galore!
And that concrete truck, which got stuck, like a hood ornament, on your Mayors car?
Dragon accidentally fell into it, while trying to catch Frisbees in YOUR nearby park.
Naturally, you’ve accident insurance for all these things. What I can’t understand is…
Why the town carries Hubby out the door, still in his office chair, just as we get there?
I’ve never seen anything like that before! He must be truly and dearly loved, by ALL!
So we advised him NOT to take that other job, with better pay, else where, after all…
For a love like that… is priceless… and simply… can’t be ignored!
