Pendulum

From every birth to every death
Underneath the sky
Every day in moments of music and tears
Every week month and year
Opaque and clear
The constant continuum
Containing millions of shades
From blades of love-grass
To mass of pain and scum
In between
The cold to hot sun
The cup of sweet milk to
The glass of rum
In the inexorable pendulum

Space and time
Bound by chime
Boundless too
Nostalgia dew
Past paradigm
Jamaican grime
Wintertime
In a twist of lime
Time doth come
In pendulum

Haven’t we come across
The roses on our cakes
And cherries on our books of pleasures
And the monsters of failure
The blind roads galore
After the sunset and before the sunrise
In our bread and rice
In warmth and ice
Sans Christ

We have also seen
The sparkling waves following the scum
In the myriad moments of the pendulum

At one end you are pressurized
With thorns in sleepless nights
By monsters at their height
With no glowworm in sight
A pitiable plight
But that is not the last word
As you realize
At a prize moment
The swords are gone
Vanquished by the anemone
One pink morning you see at the other end
Bees of pleasure on a bunch of daffodils
Adding to your leaves
Rich chlorophyll
Following the barren rocks Jesus handsome
Strikes the pendulum
So variegated is the continuum
Our life and time
Our descent and climb

Haven’t we shuddered before the big black hole of dark void
Resembling malignant typhoid
We felt life and death
In an uncertain breath

In our sun and moon
Just a deserted sea shore
Not a single boat no door
Dank dark doom in endless emptiness
No fulcrum
For the pendulum

Stale ale
Moons pale
Barren tale
Wombs wail
Aimless sail
Times frail

We tolerate
Sometimes just hibernate
Sometimes we agitate
What we do when
Knows the tinge of women and men
Whatever we do
We still wait
For a dew to accept us and to elevate
Towards a tower
Breaking in a little flower
We don’t know for sure
A lure
Or an illusion pure
But we like to believe
In the cups of reprieve
And live
Gradually filling the void
What has been destroyed
May be a day arrives
When we see
In our emptiness lies our fullness
A taste of wholesome
The swing of pendulum

Unstoppable
Always rockable
Never absolute
Always probable
Past and present
A lovely blend

Fingers of time
Strumming a chime
So awesome
The pendulum

Hi Probir. Congratulations on your win in my contest. Your poem is complex and simple at the same time. The line that stands out for me (with so many thought-provoking lines) is the 'pendulum with no fulcrum'. If I may, I would like to use that line for a poem (will reference you of course). Many wishes, Kai
