Pearls
Her mother left her pearls,
A strand so delicate and old.
They'd been passed down through the ages
For the newest brides to hold.
With tales of how their marriages
Were like this precious strand.
The care of loved ones they must know
Before they joined their hands.
Pearls must stay together,
Alone they have no worth.
Just as the bride and groom must do
All their days on earth.
Each one must be gently treated,
Pearls and loved ones too.
If not they would surely fall apart
But treated kindly they'd shine as new.
