Peace is a Dirty Bird

Peace is a dirty bird
The crossed line is a wire
The messengers have all been shot
The dodos are on fire

Maureen, you sum it all up really well. When a society allows almost anyone to have a firearm, we should really be sure to promote mental health. Smiles!!

Funny, my mom used to say, “dirty bird,” until we started making fun. Such an interesting write, as always! Wow!

Wow, this poem really hits hard! I love how it uses strong, unexpected images to show that peace isn’t always neat or easy. Short but powerful—really makes you think.

HA! Brilliant Maureen! Over the years I've learned to first check the mirror in any situation... wouldn't want to be growing flammable feathers and not even realize it lol.

The biggest lesson I have learned through my experience with traumatic brain injury is that most people never question their own brain. The funniest fact that I have learned is that much of a certain aged piety and rage is lead poisoning. ;), xomo

Birds on a wire... dirty when they conspire to do nothing but wrong. Dodo birds are extinct, except for one whose orange feathers should be sheered before he's sent to El Salvador. Kudos, Mo.

My inspiration has you inspired! ;), Our “flying rats” are doves… Did you know that Dodos were in the pigeon family? As a fancier, I for one would have loved a 3’ pet pigeon. After our election I’ve finally stopped obsessing over ‘merican politics, it is too overwhelming. Cheers lovely’ xomo
