Peace
The monk was nursing trees in the monastery
when the king came up the hill with a query.
The monk smiled on King’s query.
Can you bring peace in my mind?
In a low tone the monk spoke,
My child, none can bring peace for you.
The king fell down on his knees
and prayed to the monk to save him.
With tears the king murmured his suffering,
as all negative thoughts chase him throughout the night.
He desires to sleep, but remains awake.
The monk raised the king
and spoke in a soft voice,
My dear, I have no magic wand
to bring peace in your mind.
But, then listen to my advice.
Do not search peace elsewhere.
It lies in your mind.
Believe in yourself.
We are the children of the Almighty.
We have no power to do any wrong.
Whatever outcome we witness, It’s our act.
Accept whatever happens,
and don’t blame anyone for the consequence.
Neither panic nor fly away from the present.
We are in this world to face the present.
There are many peaceful souls in this world.
They all succeeded in facing dark side of their lives.
You too will.
The monk put his hand on the king’s shoulder
and said, I only wish that
the Almighty to give you enough strength to face life.
Remember, the monk said,
the Sun rises only after darkness sink.
In your life sufferings will also go by and peace will come.
The king believed the monk,
to witness a peaceful life.
The monk walked down the hill,
Leaving the king engrossed in
dreams of his new peaceful life.
