Notes About The Poem

Pause of Polarity Interchange

There is a place
A moment's space
where Time is paused
and hush is caused
Where infinity
we almost see
where colors flash
and letters dash
While not a word
but thought is heard

Thought will then muse
Till word ensues
But did it dare
find Ego's lair
where “I” command
is in demand

If thought is deep
Let Ego sleep
Or else remorse
might stem our course
Yet “I” is strong
shouts Evermore
and finds scant use
on other's shore.

Now there are clues
Though each is strong
The one we choose
May prove us wrong.
But at last although
there is one choice
which will then echo
as our voice.

We all have thoughts rambling in our minds. What to do with them? Your thoughts are fascinating.

Dear Ann, This is a truly fascinating look at the internal process of turning thought into action and voice. It really makes me consider how much of our authentic internal wisdom is corrupted or shaped by the desire for external command before it ever becomes a word spoken. Autumn Blessings, Dear Ann, Daniel

I think probably most of our thinking is shaped by the desire to change another's thoughts, Daniel. Thank you for understanding what my poem is trying to say.

In our hearts, there is a constant tug of war for ego to come into prominence. But we have to subdue it with sublime thoughts. A poem, so profound, smooth flowing and beautifully rhymed. All the best dear Ann

Thank you so much, Valsa. The words we say do, often, have weight.
