Line of inquiry: “Betwixt two thoughts there is a gap No illusions therein entrap In the time stretched pause we then see Ego craving is a mousetrap” Souls sipping sin of ego sweet like sap Become stuck in the spiritual mousetrap Oh but to experience grace repenting Learning that God alone sets souls free To live as flawed human is to experience Trials tribulations of feverish flesh Impressionable mind perhaps barely aware Of the seed of sin planted in thoughts Returning in actions as being evident one is lost But betwixt two thoughts there is a gap Where truth lives and He is An escape to salvation Emancipation from the abyss’s curse Easy to be distracted yet easier To have redacted the sins of your soul Confess and be blessed with humility Be cleansed by the Holy fire as ego leaves Find it true that all things Work for the betterment of the Lord That even in the clutches of sin One can repent and be saved therein Bible stories leave for us a roadmap That we may find our ways out the mousetrap
