Pause My Poetry

Poetry is me, it is you, it is all of us. How could it ever be, how can it ever be that one could pause my will to write, poetry is born within us and you and me and so it will ever be, when poets stop writing or are paused to create poetry what is left, the world for us would stop to rotate, that would be our fate. Reading this beautiful poem, I am reminded of Hemingway's Oldman and the Sea where he says "A man can be destroyed but not defeated". Yes, you can be beaten to bleed, you can be silenced, your spirits can be slayed, but your poetry can never be taken away from you. What an assertive statement coming from a poet who is out and out a poet and is wedded to verse. Poetry is your life breath.... Taking it away from you will be stifling you to dearh, I know. Beautiful.

Someones pen is always on fire, can anyone pause your poetry. I doubt it. I find this very metaphorical too. And as a deep reader i feel like it conveys the message “shake me break me you can never kill me” what I absolutely love about this poem is your wordplay! So clever and creative those alliterations and how you’ve phrased your thoughts: the ending is soul hitting. This is one of those poems which makes me wish, ah i wish i wrote that damn, so good! “Poison my prose” “ execute my ego” ah

You've conveyed so much within such few words and every line comes with power infused potion.Having seen and faced such situations in life, I can absolutely relate with every line and especially "but you will never pause my poetry".The cruelty of this world can go to such an extent, that they can't even tolerate us weeping in peace, their needs to be a drama and game in everything they think.This one is deeply resonating. My friend such a powerful stand shows the true heart of a true poet! I too had those that tried to shut me down long ago. three were my own brothers that ridiculed my work. I defeated them, as this heart beats as a poet. This is another gem you gift us. A very fine fav.. God bless you..
