Past Her Prime

A poetess well past her prime
Had some trouble when writing a rhyme.
Her limericks lagged
And her readership sagged
You could say it was really a …tragedy!

It's such a great feeling to know that an oldie but goodie is still being read. Thank you!

so clever how you ended it unrhymed. Big congrats for a well deserved win. I don't know if you entered my contest for funny poems or not, but if you gave me one like this, it would be on the list for sure!!

LOVED this one, Ilene! Especially the clever way you had "trouble" with the rhyme at the end ;) Smart cookie! Congrats on your win in my contest :)

Ilene this is a lovely limerick. Tragic when a creative mind of a writer, artists, poet has lost the words, images, and thoughts to old age. Warm Smiles, Connie
