Pilgrims aboard the Mayflower As sails made the most of the breeze Longed to make home in a brave new land Enduring the most vicious seas Finally, anchored they ‘trod’ Plymouth rock And not one was in a bikini Conflict with locals would rage on and on Eventually there would be Chablis

ha! i just read another double acrostic, terry, (didn't know this form even existed) and i'm delighted by it. i love the rhymes you've used here and, of course, the ending is hysterical...

Thanks, Ilene. I have to say I saw the problem coming… how do I rhyme a line ending in ‘I’ with a line ending in ‘S’? ‘Chablis’ (as an indicator of todays ‘civilised’ society’) gave me a giggle in it overt simplicity and in the fact that it may be the only thing that rhymed… though I could be wrong ;-)
