For Joseph May's Paint a Picture poetry contest

This image reminded me of when my grandma used to sit on the veranda and rock gently on her armchair... However, she did not live by the sea....

Image 1. As platinum clouds drift by, sea breeze in early evening, kisses ripples on incoming tide. Dusk's sun reflects upon veranda, as nanna's armchair rocks gently.

Congratulations SO this poem is so perfect as you thoughtfully selected words that immediately illustrates the picture in ones minds eye. What a lovely scene for your nana to look upon in her later years. You are a loving family man. Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

The picture made me think of my granddad and it's so fresh because he just left us. I didn't want to worry my emotional sensitivity. Nicely written as always Dear Silent. They do enjoy their time sitting and just pondering about life, family and nature. The peace you see on their faces when they rock it, before grandchildren come running around. Cheers.

Oh man. I couldn't tell if it was a rocking chair bot now that I look more closely , I think I see it. Also the fact it was a sea view. Did not even enter my mind. I think I was too caught up in remembering my grandpa on a farm. Good one, S.O.

I love this. Beautiful description of the sea side resort and the rocking chair where your grandma used to relax in the evenings. The things used by the dear departed ones can rouse a lot of fond memories in us.

How beautiful and evocative this is, i thought of my grandpa when i saw this picture and i really love how descriptive your take is. Perfectly describes what you can see in the picture prompt. I especially love “ kisses ripples on incoming tide. Dusk's sun reflects upon veranda,” stunning and poignant write, one that also emanates nostalgia and grief, In the most eloquent manner. Its amazing how one can say so much in just five lines, but its you, So there is no surprise there. Best wishes
