Overflowing

A basket holds the magazines And catalogues I’m saving, But when I’m not around, I think They all start misbehaving. I could have sworn I left them In a neat and tidy pile, But now they’re topsy-turvy, Which is really not my style. New Yorkers constitute the bulk; They take so long to read! Then More for women over 40 – Much more, I’ll concede. The wicker also wields a wad Of travelogues and such; Toss in some home décor gazettes And man, it’s just too much! I’ve gotta get them straightened out Or they will slide and fall And knock down all my newspapers, Which will not do at all!

just got rid of a basket 9 inches deep of New Yorkers which I could not keep up with anyway. Next to the book shelf with millions more dating back to the caveman. great poem love, Kathy

Shred em' and forget em' and scatter them around. And maybe they will feed the earth and a tree up from the ground.

Those annual Publisher's Clearing House jackpots are a bigger longshot than Powerball or MegaMillions. That's how people get stuck with so many magazine subscriptions. Good write Ilene.

Hey was this for the garage sale contest. If not, It could work for that one because it looks like someone organizing all these old magazines for a sale. Very nice poem, and yes, you got my meaning correct in my bio. Been a very tough last few years.
