Out of the Shadows (Part 1)

I gasp heavily as I turn and look back, running in this cold weary night, so black. My heart more fearful than I, feeling it beat, my mind insisting much more from my aching feet. Nothing can stop me now, or so I thought. Should have listened to my Soul, all that I was taught! The shadowed figure closes on me, I feel my tears. He lifts his arm, metal shines. These are my fears. An opening ahead with a modest glow of light, wrong option to choose if I need to stop and fight. Why did I choose this debris filled alley not even fit for cats!? Nothing will survive this damp hell, not even flee bitten rats. I dive in to the opening next to an open door, I lay for a while…..still…. as hunted pray on the floor. Watching the hunter run past I hold this position alone, the City of London, full of people, but all on my own. Has he gone? Is it time to take the inevitable risk? I raise my head with caution, but I must be brisk. So many shadows surround me, they all look the same, out in the open, vulnerable and then the foot steps came. “Click” from behind me, but I couldn’t face reality, (maybe he is my past, caught up with me, I lost my morality) The chilling feeling of a heavy metal object on my head, I closed my eyes, no point in pleading “Bang” I’m….. Who is this man? In writing for part 2.
