Our Valley

It is mid winter now, our valley in full frosty set; all the forest, absent canopy a crystal wet; heard a drippy critter sneeze, not a wild nose escaping cold's frigid breeze -- bare trees in thick bark sleeves -- yet no limbs entirely forsaken Nature will again show us, her blossom memory --

Dear joe, reading this was like looking at an artwork, painted in such detail, i love the descriptive nature of this poem which made me wonder, what the weather is like there right now. Its so hot here, and i also love the way you’ve written “heard a drippy critter sneeze, not a wild nose escaping cold's frigid breeze -- “ made me almost sneeze too. You really do know how to evoke various emotions and awaken senses of a reader! So clever and profound! Pleasure reading you today! Sending you light always

Thank you so much for the encouragement, IE; this was from memory. Once lived in a much colder climate, even once experienced -27f. But for a long time now I have been in Phoenix Arizona, which gets quite hot at times. 122f once, I road to work on my motorcycle, felt the blood boiling beneath my finger nails. Now it is winter in our valley, Phoenix also a valley, but each day hovers around 70f -- it is perfect.

Your valley blanketed in snow must be a sweet sight to behold. 'bare trees in thick bark sleeves'..... love this description. After winter, Nature will again come in colorful shades. Enjoyed your lovely description, dear Joe.

I am now in a desert, but remember well, the Hudson River Valley, not far from where I grew up. It had inspired an entire culture of artists.

I know...after awhile, deeper into winter, the spirit longs for blossom change. Have a beautiful day my blossom friend!

A cold valley means the mountains are even colder. I enjoy this poem. Now I feel cold.
