Our Living Antiphon
As I look at my window
I can feel the kind of struggle.
In a pensive mood, there's stillness
that explores the veneer of reflection.
Like the hub of a moving clock,
with a distinct sense of dejá vu,
The ethos of human nous,
unfolds the crimson thread of truth.
Just as it runs through life;
my world gets gone through the mill.
To know the ropes that interweave
muscle the depth of who I am.
With current strength to live,
in a changing world;
To link justice and freedom to all,
a challenge that breaks monolithic platitudes,
in a system that traces transformation.
Openness to the wisdom of this decade
describes itself in a variety of situations.
The rich diversity of race,
sexuality, and uniqueness,
becomes the hallmark of our best.
It is a rich prayer though
that has its roots deeply in unity.
To expand its meaning to all seasons
seems the tide of propriety and importance.
It is a recipe for living in freedom;
as a yardstick to acknowledge everyone.
In the midst of hardships and crooked lines,
along the steps that herald who we are.
Our oneness becomes a fitting one;
Of the Pauline church that
passed the word down the line.
A message of love, hope, and communion
in our antiphon of life to relate.
