Our Children

Dirty faces, button noses Cheeks from playing, red as roses. Eyes wide open, full of wonder, They love the rain, hate the thunder. They laugh and cry, run and play, Change their ways from day to day. They like to think they know it all, Yet their book of knowledge is so small. As time goes by they learn more and more, We watch each time they leave our door. We wonder when they'll do this for good, And wish so bad they never would. But we know in our hearts, the day will come, When no more we'll see them play and run. It's something all parents have to face, As our children join the human race.
