If you read about opossums, they are the best mamas, and they will play dead rather than fight with any other animal including their mates. We have a oposum that eats with our cat and dog; they like her actually. Not a pet, but someone from the wild they share their food with at night.

Opossum Visit

The opossum's on porch
Slurping up tasty cat food
Flips over, plays dead
