That day, I was on my scale, thought I was fat? Till I realized, i was holding two, five pound cats! Scales are deadly, for women, it is proven true. Use a tape measure instead, to be gorgeous you. Mens’ weight, seems to move as easily as a cloud. While ours seems immovable, like an iron clad shroud. My despicable scale was put away in a deep, dark closet. I measured my body parts, got thin, so do try it? Went from a size sixteen to a size seven? Was so grateful and thought I really was in heaven! It’s been thirty seven years of pure bliss. I think my tape measure deserves a honorable kiss. Your fork, must alas, be given a long rest. Leaving the table, and exercise, is a character test! 2/7/2023

LOL Pangie. It can be a struggle. Obesity is a major issue in the States, as well as a sedentary lifestyle. We fight sugar, carbs, fertilizers, chemicals, pollutants in everything. There are plenty of alternatives these days. Eat sensibly in moderation, organic if possible, and EXERCISE! You said it all!

I don’t judge you on Your weight, but..the size of your heart….dear Gershon.. A very smart MD who worked with weight loss only. …Asked “ me this question… DO YOU GET, THAT IT IS OK TO BE FAT… I said, no, I did not understand that. He said, well when you do..come back. I thought his question was deep. I lost weight another way. I also took up running..OUch. Walking a lot each day, works. I only see being overweight as dangerous to our lives.Elena brought over a mini- challah and a schmear for me. Heaven! And no shame on you. You are my friend, have backbone and are a true, inelligent mensch. Glad you are in my life. You tell the truth…awesome! Panagiota

An agonising break Pangie, I fractured my patella once and damn it was painful, but with exercise and grit got back into training, it’s very easy to put on weight when immobilised, anyway you’re in good form now, and writing some really great stuff, cheers again David

Pangie I But only with a rolator. 7 years previous, I broke my hip. And was never without an assistive appliance since! I can do dweebish exercises at home. Falling outdoors would be my end. Sounds like you are doing well! Panagiota

David! I was never a fat ballerina! I got heavier when I was older and just a few years to get rid of that but it’s gone and thank heavens. Oh being fat is a huge problem in the. United States…both adultsand with children. But prices are high and we can’t eat much that will add to them getting thinner I sure hope so. Dance also introduces you to great composers that one normally not heard. I You don’t know, I broke my leg last year. Dancing days are sadly over, my friend! Only in my dreams can I dance.. so glad to hear from you, David.. pleased ?? you enjoyed the write. Panagiota

Cute twist to a serious poem, Pangie. Congrats on getting and staying healthy! I enjoy the poem and the advice my dear friend. These last couple years of Covid and stress, I've allowed some of those excess lbs to return ... I'm working them off this year. :-) Write On! Bill

Hi Bill…nice to see you.Covid killed people, not all, made us stay at home, and raised suicide rates and death by drugs. And as you said, put weight on people. Best wishes on getting them off. It can be done! Ihave faith in you. Pangie xo

Can't write poetry while holding a double cheese burger. Good advice. Cats get in the way also, stepping on fingers and keyboards. But it's a worthwhile balance. Enjoyed the read. Needed something light. Pun intended.

We all make typos. Sometimes I go through a work 20, 30 times and still find simple errors I read over without taking notice. As far as the other stuff, I would not pay attention. It ain't worth it. Just do your thing. You can never satisfy critics. My opinion for what little it may be worth. Blessings my friend.

Good, my Prince, glad you liked something “light.”. So often, I forget to eat. Takes forever to post. Comment…especially with one finger and failung vision. Hence my dopey typos that the young poetesses here … see the need to embarass me followed by exclamation points to someone else’s POTD?the high class poets never dO SUCH horse hockey. Correction comes by soupmail …..thank you kind ones. Another trick is to criticize me hiding under the cloak of someone else’s poem? Low life stuf Great pun, thanks LOL Pangie xx will write till I go blind, no snots here will stop me Pangie xx

Scales (and mirrors) have been the downfall of many a woman, especially from the health point of view. Your advice is to be heeded, Pangie. Eating well and exercising are capable of doing the trick. ~ Warm regards , my friend // paul

Greetings, Paul. You are so on point. Simple walking, DAILY or running, as I did. Plus good foods, herbal and vitamin regimens, really helped ..In addition…a food plan for each day! I did not tarry from. I worked with others. People cheat, Paul! They cheat themselves out of happy and long lives. Wishing all longevity! Pangie xx

- Many years ago I bought a scale ... wiped the dust off it twice a week ... when the battery was empty it was put in a cupboard ... and there it has "slept" for many years ... there can it stay ... as long as my pants fit ... a fun poem, Pangie :) - hugs

Glad you liked it. Great. Women most spend millions Om those abominable scales. Now they are digital. So what! The sad part is, keep eating a lot and you mess up your heart, veins, etc, being obese is rewarded here..designers make tent size clothes. It is not funny. Some have to buy giant size caskets ?OMG! Men also, need to slim down if they want to live long. They are walking lethal weapons next to small children. I see them at fairs here. OMG. We still fit in our pants. Yes, we do Long life be yours Pangie xo.
