Only What Is Kind
You said so many mean things to me
Even after you were gone, my mind became my enemy
Because, the mind never forgets, with the tendency to replay
Even things that are not true, through the years, in a day
You taught me all about betrayal and mistrust
Your jealousy a vengeance, control for you a must
Moving on was freeing, but was work to re-build
The belief in myself, so I can be fulfilled
No, I won't forget, I can't erase my mind
So, I build upon new things I learn, always hoping to find
- only what is kind -
