Only Human - a Conversation
Her: Whatever I've done,
whatever I"ve said
to cause you to be
screwed up in the head,
I'm sorry.
Him: Whatever I didn't do,
whatever I didn't say
to make you feel
lonely and gray,
I'm sorry.
Her: Tomorrow may come
and it may not.
Time is something
we don't know we've got.
Him: Don't give up
on goodness and light
cause it's still there
though out of sight.
Her: Think of the times
we cried and we laughed
and said things
that made us feel daft.
Him: Remember the kisses, the hugs
and the love
shared with our children
sent from above.
Her: Then when they look back
and remember me and you
they'll know that
we were only human too.
