Only You Make It Possible For Me
ONLY YOU MAKE IT POSSIBLE FOR ME
Only you make it possible for me:
. . . To question the way of this Life and find my only reply -
Eye-to-eye, hand-in-hand, step-by-step with thee;
. . . And to find rest for a moment to plea -
To tell this impossibly wearying, worrying world why
Only you make it possible for me;
. . . And that Christmas winter’s gifted spree
Is mere abandonment in icy wasteland unless am I
Eye-to-eye, hand-in-hand, step-by-step with thee;
. . . And that after May sunrises of spring-delight I see
Happiness is within reach after a dark night - aye,
Only you make it possible for me;
. . . And that I will not take the path to heaven’s glory
With all its purposeless joy and eternity except it lie
Eye-to-eye, hand-in-hand, step-by-step with thee.
In this world every day I move, feel, and see
But my sole response is simply to sigh -
Only you make it possible for me,
Eye-to-eye, hand-in-hand, step-by-step with thee.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
