Notes About The Poem

Jami Patterson's 'The Stumble and Rise' Contest ~ September 25, 2025

One Misstep

Hordes of people rushed everywhere I took one misstep and lay there No use wearing a frown So, I laughed like a clown Bowed and waltzed off without a care

Hey at least you could walk away without assistance. That's always a good sign. Hope the audience was appreciative! Smiles!!

What the heck -- if one can walk away on their own, a flop is worth a laugh and a hop. Dick Van Dyke made a fortune off of them. Well said, my friend. Good luck in contest.
