Tri-Con

Created by Connie Marcum Wong consisting of at least 4 three line stanzas. Each line has no set meter or syllable count. The last word in each stanza must rhyme with the following Stanza and then you need to change your rhyming word again in the third stanza and so on.

I cried on our first date, you looked so debonair and I was proud of you. I cried meeting your folks, they felt like family and my love for them grew. I cried when you proposed, you got down on one knee and gazed into my eyes. I cried when I said yes, you made me so happy and caught me by surprise. I cried at our wedding, you in your tuxedo and me in virgin white. I cried at our son's birth, sharing a tear of joy, we hugged, ever so tight. I cried when you got sick, facing death together we both lived with that fear. And at your funeral, when I whispered goodbye I cried...yet one last tear. (Tri-Con) 2/5/2019

Oh, you use the form Connie coined so well, Emile! Life is full of tears, but that last one at your wife's funeral really got to me. Congratulations on your win! Best wishes, Carolyn (I do three-line stanzas often, but with variations in rhyme.)

Ive never seen this form, so cant comment on that... nice rhymes in your poem.. i do feel the syllable restrictions seem to have effected the emotive side to this write.. Congratulations on your placement in the contest..

Emile, this is so beautiful, and sad. I love the contrast; you are such a tender poet! No one writes like you my friend.
