One Last Breath
the scent of lilacs surround,
for there's no salvation around-
and in her final short breath,
she whispers verses of death.
she saw not the world as we,
only knew a longing to be free-
for there was nothing to keep
her fragile aura from falling asleep.
lace wrapped around her pale nape,
even in death she couldn't escape
the wickedness of her insecurity-
now left in oblivious obscurity.
she dresses fancy one last time,
in her mind sings verses of rhyme-
but only tunes of haunting death,
tilts her head, taking one last breath.
