“When I started counting my blessings, my whole world turned around” -Willie Nelson
Life has been good even with all its ups and downs. However, I believe the last few years have hit many souls hard. I know I’m one of them, for I’ve been complaining about things in life over which I’ve no control, such as my chronic conditions and unfortunate family situations. I must lose all my resentments and bitterness. There is still so much to be grateful for. I must give more time to giving God my gratitude when I pray to Him. Also, I should pray more often and on my knees - not simply as I drive my car. I will kneel daily to thank God for my blessings.

Hi there Andrea...I think you make a good point here. It's a great idea to think about what life has to offer us and the relationships and things we can enjoy. Life is short, and it's nice to focus on what makes us happy. Part of it is the opportunity to help others (provided it's really help and not just interference). Keep your happy self out there!

Yes, I agree that it is easy to complain and be upset about life's situations especially when we are dealing with pain or other bodily problems, but if we pray things will work out. Praying reminds us that God is in control even though it doesn't seem like He is. I enjoyed reading your work. Sara K

A very appreciable attitude! If we can count our blessings everyday and kneel before God in thankfulness, everything will fall in line. This is my conviction too. A beautiful poem. All the Best.

Precious poem dear Andrea. Yep, life can be hard, but our sweet Father, God has blessed us all so much. This is a good reminder, gratitude. Makes me want to pray right here, right now 'Thank You Father for all our many blessings. You are such a wonderful Abba Daddy. Thank You for everything, including our dear sweet poets here on Poetrysoup. Please bless Andrea and let her feel Your smile on her I pray :) In Your Son Jesus' name I pray. Amen!' <3 Thank you Andrea, you truly are inspiring.

Ah such a sincere poem and goal this is, i like goals like how youv delivered one here sweet andrea, i think yes sometimes in the midst of chaos and all the pain that we endure we might forget to be grateful and to count blessings, but thats human nature and its fine, as we are not God, we are just mere humanbeings, but to be grateful is a beautiful goal, and i think grateful souls receive more as God love’s grateful souls. I must also kneel down and pray! Loved this! Happy new year in advance

We often hit storms in life's voyage and often forget how lucky we are when you hear of others much worse off than yourself. Good luck in the contest Andrea and hope you have good health and happiness in the new year.. Tom

Thanks. And same to you. I see movies about people in history who suffered such atrocities. Most of us are so lucky by comparison.
