One Enchanted Tristich
I wish to dream, my eyes to recide within my mind.
But hark the hand of time strikes midnight;
I lie awake.
I long to immerse myself in fairytale,
where magic speaks adventure, challenge and victory;
not stony silence.
I hope for a frivolous encounter.
Join Peter Pan and the lost boys, preserve my childlike innocence;
but alas, a new day dawns.
I gaze outside my window, toward the twinkling light.
I allow my mind to wonder, amid the swirling expanse of cosmos;
a billion, trillion worlds out there.
I ponder my existence, my own self worth.
But remind myself that God cares even for the sparrow, a calm washes over me;
my eyes close.
