One Day To Last Forever

Oh Lord I did not know the man My Father a flash in the pan Never in my life was it fate, We both apart lived as strangers My life empty stale no dangers Yet without malice without hate, Oh Lord I did not know the man My Father a flash in the pan. Let me clasp that day of respect Tried to care explain his aspect, Never in my life was it fate Yet without malice without hate, Oh Lord I did not know the man My Father a flash in the pan. © Harry J Horsman 2014

There are things worse than not knowing. I knew my father well! This is a powerful piece Harry. The shame in this case is that he didn't take the opportunity to know you, for if he had he would have been a better man.

I never knew my father, either, so I can understand these feelings. Sometimes, not having him in their life is much better for the child.... This was expressed in such a tender way. Very nicely done, Harry!

wow, this is a very fine rispetto you have crafted about your father. Sad that you did not know him. Mine is still alive but I never go to know him because of his mental illness. I think this is a great example of the proper way to use the rispetto form!

I agree with our lovely friend Demetrios Trifiatis. The son is the father of the man, I read a poem in my childhood life. I have forgot the title of that poem and the name of the writer. It's true. Loved always, my lovely friend to make us remember again,bl

My father passed away when I was ten. A different way of missing him. I do not know what is worst but one thing I know I always carry him within! When a child loses his father GOD adapts that child, that is what I have realized! Loved your poem for has touched a chord in my heart, my friend, Harry!
