Once Upon a Time
Once upon a time
An awakening occurred
There was a voice from deep inside
Troubled and disturbed
The internal dialogue was a product
Of negative experiences along the way
There was an attachment
Denial and suppressed until that day
Once awoke
Like an onion peeled to be consumed
Layer by layer
The true self is revealed, we emerge from a cocoon
It's in those moments of silence
We find a self reflective space
We see an image in a shattered mirror
It's can be a very uncomfortable place
But it is in the broken glass
An image comes to view
It's a child
A life of hardships were imbued
Its through the eyes of a child
That lies our destiny
It's scary
But acknowledging sets us free
Like the phoenix rising from the ashes
The truth is what sets us free
It is through the eyes of the child
We become liberated - autonomy
