Once More
Once more I dream of the islands
Once more I yearn for the sea
To see a sailboat out on the horizon
As you walk the shore hand in hand with me
Yesterday’s memories haunt me
Tearing this heart from my chest
I long to gaze into your eyes again
Lay all of my heartaches to rest
You captured my soul with your dark Spanish eyes
I was a sailor so young and so wild
We stole the lightning from out of the skies
I followed your lead like a child
Now my mind carries me back to that Island
See your smile, your skin softly tanned
Beneath the stars on that tropical paradise
On a blanket we laid in the sand
Once more I’d like to awaken
With the tropical sun in my eyes
Once more I’d like to set sail
Find my own little Paradise
Once more to sail beneath the Southern Cross
Live and love in the tropical sun
Once more find myself in your arms again
At peace when the day is done.
