On Vintage
Those of us, a certain age
Or vintage you may say
Can easily remember
A bright and youthful day
The world was still so new
And time was unessential
So many things to do
And things were reverential
But time tick tocks, as it does
Relentless in its’ due
Today is short, tomorrows - scarce
Our lives are in review
I contemplate the eras
That house, that car and such
Yet it’s always the people
Whose memories do touch
Those I’ve lost along the way
Those still close to me
In bittersweet reflection
Through vintage eyes, I see
