Choka Poetry Contest

On a warm evening, Sat idle on the seashore, Looking at the sea. As I was gazing, Violent breakers rose high, Crashing on the shore. Before me I saw, The savagery of the sea. Will it be at rest? I sat on the beach A little away from crowd, Breathing briny air. My mind became light. Can I be again a child, Playing on seashore? Watched small boats gliding. Saw swallows winging across And gulls circling round. With sun plunging down, Sharks were seen leaping over. Soon sky grew darker The crowd was leaving Will peace sooner descend down, To soothe my sad soul? What puzzles do the sea hold?

Love the thought of remembering the joy of being a child playing on the seashore, the world becomes violent breakers crashing on the seashore as we grow and see the wickedness around us but blessed are those which find the joy of their youth : )

Beautiful pondering Valsa! The freedom is there, somewhere - it's just about forgetting what others may think. The other option is play with a child - then everyone just things you are very in tune x

Definitely there are many puzzles down under the ocean which have never been discovered and are too dangerous to explore at the present time, but someday it will be different. I enjoyed reading this one today. Very creative work for the contest, it reads like a good contender to me. Way to go. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and for dropping by my page. Sara

The sea is long recognized with soul journeys. A perfect subject for your searching poem. "The crowd was leaving Will peace sooner descend down, To soothe my sad soul?" There will always be a longing, a sense of feeling not entirely complete, until we are again united with our God in heaven. Excellent read!
