On Nick's Dragon
We're on Nick's dragon, off we ride.
I'm feeling poorly on one side;
we argue ‘bout stuff way too much.
When dragon finds a water trough,
I seek peace and quickly get off.
Ole Nick rides on into the blue
searching a piece he thought he knew -
piece called deception and such.
He’s older but still wants to know;
feisty dragon now starts to glow.
Walking back, I look to the skies
Behold, how fast Nick's dragon flies.
Going alone, my chest I clutch;
peace descending as I lose sight.
My voice is gone, day turns to night.
Heaven-bound past Nick and dragon,
I see that long tail a waggin’
I don’t bid it, glad we lost touch.
Past death's door, I keep faith in place,
knowing no drake can outwit grace.
