On Bended Knees

On bended knee she found the words Her father couldn’t find She prayed them to the Lord above And opened up his mind She asked of nothing for herself But forgiveness for her sins She prayed for peace and happiness For all her kith and kin Then she thanked God for her blessings And named them one by one She started with her blinded eyes That would never see the sun But allowed an understanding Of faith that few can know She spoke of things she couldn’t see But believed in anyhow She thanked God for his only Son Who the cross for her did bare Brought light into her darkness And saved her from despair Her final thoughts were for her dad For Jesus to save his soul For him to find the light and way And before too late be whole So that one day in heaven His face she could finally see With a smile, she whispered Amen Opened eyes, and stood from knees Hours later in silence of night Her prayer had left it’s mark At ten she had a graciousness And depth that warmed his heart The things of which he blamed the Lord She had thanked Him for Then on bended knee he found the words And for salvation he implored With tears streaming down grimaced face He prayed for mercy and relief He found inspiration in the voice Of his daughter’s true belief He thanked the Lord for his blessings And named them one by one For life and health and family And for a daughter’s love

NICE DUDE!!! That is excellent work! I printed that and hug it on my door for everyone in the office to read. That kind of unselfishness is exactly what the world needs right now.
