On Becoming a Poet
From whence comes the muse wherein prompts?
The average one-year-old knows ten words.
You can be anything thatcha wanna.
It's very important that you learn phonics, short and
long ees, not to mention dotted i's and crossed t's.
From whence comes the muse wherein prompts?
Columbus was good, upon that we all agree,
so was Grant for the yankees and Lee for the crackers.
You can be anything thatcha wanna.
All the right men in all the right places
Jive to the system, fall into their graces
From whence comes the muse wherein prompts?
Play by the rules and don't make a fuss,
we'll create gold out of thin air, just trust us (and get back to WORK!)
You can be anything thatcha wanna.
One morning all the pain exploded into colors
could no longer be concealed by the white, black and grey.
From whence comes the muse, wherein prompts?
You can be anything thatcha wanna!

This was inspired by Michael J. Falotico's 'test that I didn't get under the wire for. Thanks for the inspiration, MJF!!
