On Becoming a Millionaire
Most everyone would like to be a millionaire
Which accounts for the record lottery sales
A win will get you short-lived publicity’s glare
Reality will take the wind out of your sails.
Everything about your life would be changed
As folks would look at you in a different way
Your children might act as if they are deranged
And, don’t be surprised if your hair turns gray.
Then, everything would change in your attitude
As you learn there are things money can’t buy
Like desirable peace, happiness, and solitude
There’s a limit to the adventures you can try.
So, my advice is, be happy with what you’ve got
Make the most of time, abilities, and resource
Riches are victories won, battles you’ve fought
And coming to your end with no tawdry remorse.
