Olden Times

Old worn clothes, same old love, in solitude. Time to go home for family supper. Those days were joyful. never forgotten. Time passes on, same true love, New car, Clothes.

I love this very thoughtful poem dear Victor and this is a new form to me. You have artfully shown that true love remains unchanged even though all else will come and go including possessions. I love the title and the reminiscence of past happy days that will be forever stored in the heart. As time passes on, memories are more treasured than ever and the endurance of deep love. A wonderful, thoughtful write. So enjoyed it. Thank you for sharing. Hugs and smiles :):)

Hi Victor, "Olden Times" says this to me: It reflects on the constancy of love amidst life's changing circumstances, from the simplicity of worn clothes and solitude to the acquisition of new possessions. The poem evokes a nostalgic longing for the joy found in the unchanging essence of family and love, underscoring how material changes pale in comparison to the enduring nature of heartfelt connections. Cheers, Don

Glad that it is only clothes and car that are new, and you hang onto the old love. The Bible says for husband to stay true the wives of their youth. If for a contest, it reads like a good contender to me. Way to go. Sara K

Hey Victor, This poem packs a punch of nostalgia! The contrast between the "worn clothes" and "same old love" in the past and the "New car" and "Clothes" of the present is so evocative. I loved how it hints at a simpler time filled with joy and family. - Blessings, Daniel

I've never heard of this form before. However, it is a well-written poem that makes one think that there is a lot more to it. You're so right—the joyful days won't be forgotten. Thank God for memories. Love and hugs dear Victor
