Notes About The Poem

This poem is about the defiance of some old townships against new ideas, and how sometimes these new ideas are run out of town.
Old Town Blues
There was a guy who came to town,
Who announced a magic word,
And he had the town perfectly entranced,
Every time we heard,
Him voice these thoughts, ideas and plans,
Voiced all he had to say,
And his crowd of followers grew up huge,
Every single day,
But there were those who envied him,
They were jealous of this man,
So they set out to destroy these words,
They destroyed what he began,
There was a guy who came to town,
Who was turned right back around,
And now the town’s gone quiet again,
There’s no voice, no word, no sound.
