Old Friends

The Ghost denied he was a Ghost, though clearly I saw through -- Someone I knew in life, back then quite pink, substantial with lots and lots to do – tried and tried convincing him all to no avail, myself even now more pale till recognized he dear friend, himself who had read my eulogy….

True, only God knows all...and He did not make mindless slaves -- He created heirs.... Therefore, we can infinitely become wiser and greater.

This is eerie and humorous at the same time. I wonder if the ghosts know really that they are ghosts. . You recognized him as the one who read your eulogy.... so puzzling !! This is very apt for the season of Halloween. Enjoyed this surreal poem.

Yes, he read my eulogy, when I had died and he still was yet among the living. On a serious note, some Ghosts (spirits) do not immediately know they have passed on...when they are killed through tragic accident or murder; some who pass away, serious illness, after long suffering are kept sleeping in heaven, for a spell, guarded lovingly attended to by angels and other heavenly beings, till it is less traumatic for their awakening -- some are stuck on the astral, a dimension closely surrounding the earth, unable to ascend, a place where other troubled souls/spirits consciously interact. No one goes to hell for eternity, God loves us all. This is my understanding, and what I have experienced in my psychic/spiritual (meditations, prayers) journey. The definitive work on this subject, the best I have ever read is: "Life After Death" by Hanna Jacob Doumette.

There once was a sad little Ghost, teased for his fright-less boo -- unable to scare anyone while attracting many a bull -- sounded like an amorous moo. Oh, that poor little ghost! -- his white sheet always blue; Maytag man suggested bleach: agitated back and forth, screech screech screech!…

Ghosts are often in denial so its seems as the movies we watch depict it clearly, being Halloween this poem is very fitting Joe, a good one !

The problem with these movies is, young people watch, but in the back of their minds they think that it is all theater...and maybe something harmless to try: Working with tortured spirits, lost souls wandering the earth due to accidents or murder, therefore having left their bodies prematurely, can result in madness or demon possession. Most people who work in these capacities have gone through years of personal purification and surrender to God. And never should these things be attempted alone, remembering always that, God does the work -- not I: God is with me, around me, and inside of me....
