Old Branch of Mine

I loved you once, Didn't I? Come and sit down on this old branch of mine, Let's talk and past the time, I think I'm doing fine. Tell me all about your wars on foreign lands, And all those times you close those doors, Because you proclaimed it was not for man, But it was yours. And this old branch of mine is twisted, Slowly folding and hiding me away underneath it's tarnished thorns and the animals who occupy it, But I'm not sure whether there are animals worse than I, Or if I'm the only one.
