Old Bessie

Old rusty Bessie just drove her last mile
Went with a sputter instead of a smile
    No more brakes slipping
    No more gears ripping
Think I'll relax with a horse for a while

Oh, G, how a propos this is to me. I love my car...a 2009 Chevy Cobalt...that I've had since 2010, but I fear her days are becoming numbered. I'm hoping, when her time does come, that she will go peacefully, with neither "sputter" nor "smile", and just refuse to start one day. I think I'll pass on the "horse" replacement, however.

I notice that there's no discussion of how small a 'carbon footprint' a horse leaves. Hmmmmm....

That's about all I could afford if my car gave up the ghost, gw.

Ha,ha,ha,ha, sounds like my younger days when I paid $100.00 for a 53 chevy that had no front seat and no reverse lol

No reverse, eh? I imagine that you just got out of the car, rotated it 180 degrees with your muscles of steel, and then put it in drive... (I have quite an imagination...)

Good idea, Gershon. Clip, Clip, Clop, Gee up, Bessie, don't you stop... The sound of horses' hooves is very relaxing. Snoooooze.
